During his final interview with the BBC ahead of the election results, Rishi Sunak noted in the event of his defeat at the behest of Liz Truss, he plans to stay on as a member of the Parliament and serve his constituents in Richmond, Yorkshire. “I look forward to supporting the Conservative government in whatever capacity,” said Sunak.

“I’m going to stay as a member of Parliament…It’s been a great privilege to represent my constituents in Richmond in North Yorkshire as their member of Parliament and I’ll love to keep doing that as long as they’ll have me,” he added.
On being asked whether he would give it a go for the second time if he loses this election, Sunak said, “Gosh, we’ve just finished this campaign and I need to recover from this one.”
