
Colombo: Sri Lanka President Gotabaya Rajapaksa was given air force aircraft to fly out of the contry in early Wednesday morning, the country’s Air Force media director said, hours after it was reported that the embattled president had reached Maldives. The air force said that the Sri Lankan President, the first lady along with 2 bodyguards were subjected to full approval by Ministry of Defense for immigration, customs and other laws to fly to Maldives. “Air Force aircraft was provided to them in early morning of July 13,” it said.
