putin accepts invite to visit north korea, kim jong un vows 'full support' to russia

Vladivostok: Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted Kim Jong Un’s invitation to visit North Korea. As Kim’s Russia visit continues, the North Korean leader has also vowed “full and unconditional support” to Russia.

As per reports, Putin accepted the North Korean leader’s invitation after their meeting at Vostochny Spaceport in Russia’s Far East. State media KNCA reported that the Russian President has accepted the invite but the date of this visit to DPRK has not been fixed yet.

“At the end of the reception, Kim Jong Un courteously invited Putin to visit the DPRK at a convenient time. Putin accepted the invitation with pleasure and reaffirmed his will to invariably carry forward the history and tradition of the Russia-DPRK friendship,” reported North Korea’s Korean Central News Agency.

As per intelligence sources from the United States and South Korea, North Korea is likely to make an arms deal with Russia, in exchange for a ballistic missile programme. This arms deal with North Korea is also expected to support Russia in its ongoing war with Ukraine.

During his visit to Russia, Kim Jong Un told his Russian counterpart that Moscow is headed for a “great victory” over its enemies in Ukraine.

“Russia is currently engaged in a just fight against hegemonic forces to defend its sovereign rights, security and interests,” stated the North Korean leader while pledging support to Russia.

As Kim’s visit to Russia continues, the West has continued to raise its concerns over the meeting between Putin and Kim Jong Un. The United States has also warned about the countries of more sanctions if an arms deal is made.
