
No injuries were reported after a small plane crashed near Buttonville Municipal Airport in Markham Wednesday evening.
Emergency crews were called to the Highway 404 off-ramp at 16th Avenue just before 9 p.m. for a downed light aircraft.
Images from Chopper 24 show a damaged aircraft near the highway ramp with one of its wings ripped off.
The pilot, the lone occupant of the plane, was not physically injured, police said.
The cause of the crash is unknown.
Police said motorists should expect traffic delays in the area. The Highway 404 ramp to 16th Avenue is closed for investigation.
