Shinzo Abe was shot in the city of
Nara on Friday. Abe was shot when he was delivering a speech. He collapsed within moments after the attack. Abe has been rushed to a hospital and probably undergoing a surgery. The police have arrested one person and retrieved a gun from him.

Yoichi Masuzoe in a tweet said Abe was shot with a shotgun during a speech in Nara prefecture and was in a state of cardiopulmonary arrest.
The fire department has confirmed that Abe is in cardiopulmonary arrest. He is scheduled to be transferred by medevac to Nara Medical University Hospital in Kashihara City in the prefecture. The police said that Abe appeared to have been shot from behind with a shotgun, news agency ANI said citing

Accordinng to reports, the police have arrested 41-year-old Yamagami Tetsuya in Nara City for allegedly attempting murder. They said they seized a gun at the site which the suspect was apparently holding.
