The Israel Defense Forces on Sunday released surveillance camera footage showing Hamas members bringing a Nepali and Thai hostages into the Shifa Hospital on October 7. The Palestine-based group launched a surprise attack on that day, abducting more than 200 people.
In the video posted by the IDF, one of the hostages looked wounded in his arm. He was brought on a hospital bed. Israel claimed that the second one was forcefully dragged into the medical center.
“This is documentation from Shifa Hospital from the day of the massacre, October 7, 2023, between the hours of 10:42 a.m and 11:01 a.m. in which hostages, a Nepalese civilian and a Thai civilian, were abducted from Israeli territory are seen surrounded by armed Hamas terrorists. One of the hostages is injured and is being carried on a hospital bed and the other is walking,” the IDF said in a tweet.

Israel further added that these findings ‘prove that the Hamas terrorist organization used the Shifa Hospital complex on the day of the October 7 Massacre as terrorist infrastructure’.

IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, in a press conference on Sunday, said that the two wounded hostages were later taken by Hamas to hideouts. He added that the Red Cross was unable to visit them.

Hagari said that their locations are currently not known. The IDF said it has notified “relevant authorities” about the footage. Hamas has not responded to the video yet.
